Secondary Glazing System |
Senior Aluminium System (SAS) white secondary glazing is designed for double-glazing existing primary windows. They are easily fitted and operated, and allow for cleaning and maintaining both the existing primary and applied secondary window. When installed, they will give all the thermal and acoustic advantages of double-glazing. The wide air space between the existing and secondary window can be more effective than the hermetically sealed double glazed unit. With the exception of the light duty fixed light, all units are set in identical designed outer frames. Fixing All secondary units are screwed direct through their own outer frames straight into the existing primary window sub frame, once the secondary has been squared and completely fixed, then a rubber cover strip is placed into a channel to hide all the fixing screws. Please note If the existing primary window handles protrude past the timber sub frame they will interfere with the secondary operation. To over come this a timber lining will need to be fixed to the frame/reveal to move the secondary away from them, and allow the secondary to operate correctly.
