Danes Castle Fire Station - Exeter
Demolition of the original fire station, which was built in 1931 and served the area during the Second World War, will make way for a new station to be build on the same site. With the Fire Station re housed in temporary buildings behind the proposed new site. Crown Architectural Aluminium worked closely with the main contractor to make sure the new premises where handed over on time. The windows and curtain walling where supplied in a White paint finish and glazed in Grey antisun sealed units, which certainly adds a class finish to the main building. Systems used Curtain walling Manufactured from SAS, SCW curtain walling, SCW is a box and plate system enabling modular construction. With a 50mm wide profile, the system offers a wide range of mullions to cater for differing structural conditions.
